Uploading Your Data
Last updated: April 2, 2026
How to Upload Files into Horizons
To begin, navigate to the My Data section and create a dataset. A dataset is a workspace that holds your uploaded files and keeps them organized.
After creating a dataset, you can upload files either by dragging and dropping them into the page or selecting them from your computer.
What happens after you upload
Once a file is uploaded, it goes through a short processing flow before it becomes usable:
The file is validated to ensure it is supported
It is scanned for security
It is processed and indexed so it can be searched
After this process is complete, your file will appear in your dataset and be available in search.
Supported file types
Horizons supports a wide range of commonly used file types, including spreadsheets, documents, PDFs, images, and structured data files. This allows you to upload most standard research or investigative materials without needing to convert them.
Things to keep in mind
Uploading is usually quick, but larger files or large batches may take more time to process. If a file fails to upload, it’s typically due to format issues, file corruption, or storage limits.
