Where does the data in Horizons come from?

We collect data in bulk rather than pulling individual records because it helps improve the speed of our discovery process and we can then do larger systems-level analysis on networks rather than focusing on individual entities. Each dataset is collected because an analyst asked for it or because it fits one of our broader data collection goals. The data are then collected, quality checked, and ingested into Horizons by C4ADS’ data team. The data have been collected over several years and are refreshed by our data and technology teams as necessary. While a relatively small country’s corporate registry may not be directly relevant to an investigation, its collection is still important as it continues to build a global picture of corporate ownership.
